India and other Tropical Nations Need to Utilize Local Resources to Become Developed

This writer has always wondered why all so-called Developing Nations (almost 100% being in the Tropics) are more interested in “helping” the western nations, relegating their own economy to always stay Poor!!! For example, 100% of these tropical nations (including India) are foolishly believing that “exporting” somethings needed by the Western world are “best” for these countries; as if that alone would create economic development. Thus, these nations vie with one another in “cutting prices” through Government subsidies for so-called “exports”. Produces such as Tea, Coffee, Vanilla, Flowers, Cashew, Cardamon, Spices, Rubber, and many such “export products” are subsidized by every nation so as to “compete” in the international markets. Western trained (local) Economists, Agriculturists, Scientists, and almost all Journalists and other “knowledgeable” personalities cajole Farmers and every business person to work hard for exports. Phrases such as … EXPORT OR PERISH and EARN FOREIGN EXCHANGE … are coined and huge show-biz seminars and “work-shops” are conducted so that common business people are “brain washed” to become ultimate “Slaves” of the Western world. The biggest fad is the so-called Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), which is a euphemism for “back office clerical operations”. Many so-called IT Companies are encouraged to grow so that thousands of highly qualified and competent youngsters work like “bullocks” and other animals, doing mere clerical jobs for the western world, which would not require any qualification at all. And almost 100% of these IT companies are mere Back Office arrangements for the Big Western Multinational Companies, who get highly qualified youngsters at “throw away” costs to work on their various “clerical” needs. Not even one company follows the “Principle of Equality” in Payments, Timing of work and other Perks/ amenities offered. For example, an IT employee in India who works for a US Multinational would do nearly Double the work of an equivalent US employee and yet receive only one-fourth to one-fifth of the equivalent wages of the US counterpart. The net result of all these is that the Western nations progress by the “slavery” of tropical nations, under the connivance of the “rulers” of these Tropical nations.

Now look at a couple of the many disregarded and relegated Local Resources based systems: The Palm Trees in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh states and Jack-Fruit Trees in whole South India:

UNCARED FOR PALM TREES AND JACK-FRUIT TREES

Both these species are Local Resources species and DO NOT require any special agriculture practices for growth. They grow “automatically and naturally” and profusely too … requiring no fertilizer, no extra water and any tending at all. Instead, they grow on the Darwinian principle of “Survival of the Fittest”. Of the two species, the growth of the Palm tree is extraordinarily enormous. And, on a rough estimate, Southern India could be home for not less than 100 million trees. If we were to estimate that the average life of each tree @ roughly 50 years, the annually available Renewable Resources (RR) in the form of “Dry land Palm Trees” in India would be One million tons. These could be either converted into Energy or Engineered Composites that are Wood Substitutes or Metals Substitutes. The minimum productions as Engineered Composites (by combining with a few other ingredients) would be 2 million Tons. These 2 million Tons could replace either 4 million Tons metals or 4 million Cubic Meters of Wood. Further, not less than 200, 000 Local Village level Skilled labor/ Artisans would have decent jobs all throughout the year… something lacking in the entire 638, 000 villages in India now! [Note: If the Palm Tree resources were to be converted completely into Energy, Southern India would have not less than 1400 MW extra power (360 x 24) through Combined heat + Electricity generation!]

The question is: Is our Economist PM able to visualize these potentials? Are our so-called citadels of learning such as Indian Institute of Science, Indian Institutes of Technologies (IIT’s), Indian Institutes of Management (IIM’s) and many such show-biz institutions looking at these REAL RESOURCES as the greatest bet for our national development? How long would all these “pride of the nations” continue to train our superb younger generations to become mere “mental Slaves” of the west?

Let every one of the 150 to 160 tropical nations understand that: as long as we foolishly believe that “exports” as required by the western world are more important than converting and utilizing OUR OWN LOCAL RESOURCES, we would always be Slaves of the western world, irrespective of whether or not we consider ourselves to be independent and free!!!
